Elise McKelvey

Hypnotherapist

Dr. McKelvey takes a patient-centered, collaborative approach to therapy. She believes in creating an open, supportive environment where patients can express themselves and feel empowered to challenge their own limitations. Dr. McKelvey is committed to ensuring that patients feel heard, respected, and actively involved in their treatment. She takes pride in building strong, trusting relationships with her patients, quickly earning their confidence through advocacy and support. Her passion for those struggling with the gut-brain connection has continued to grow throughout her career. Dr. McKelvey earned her degree from La Salle University, specializing in Health Psychology. Her clinical experience spans a range of medical settings, including inpatient consultation/liaison services in academic medical centers and co-located behavioral health consultant roles in outpatient clinics focused on specific diseases. She has also developed group therapy protocols for patients with functional disorders, streamlining their access to care while they await treatment during her postdoctoral fellowship. The GI Psychology team is here to support you in accomplishing your goals and resolving your problems. Rather than forcing your goals to fit into specific treatments, our clinicians aid and guide your healing through a combination of treatment models by tailoring them to what you need for success. Your experience and needs are unique; your therapy should be the same. By utilizing evidence based treatments, our clinicians can help you take back control of your thoughts and improve your understanding of how your environment might influence your behavior. GI Psychology specializes in Disorders of the Gut Brain Interaction and utilizes evidenced based treatments in order to treat them; specifically Clinical Hypnosis and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. All of our clinicians are well versed in working along side you to maximize your physical and psychological recovery and growth.
